Can CBD Help With Anxiety?
Everyone has experienced anxiety in their life at one point or another. Whether it is your normal everyday anxiety, or the crushing pain of an anxiety attack where it feels like the world is ending, it’s a feeling that we want to get rid of. It doesn’t help that anxiety still has this negative connotation around it to where people are embarrassed, when it’s a completely normal feeling. Some people also experience the mindset that it’s not a big deal since everybody experiences it, but it IS a big deal.
Let me tell you, anxiety absolutely sucks and it’s okay to feel this way. In a world where nothing is certain, as can be seen in the last two years, more people than ever are starting to experience anxiety and even reaching out for help. When I was doing some research, I came across a statistic that 37 million Americans were taking antidepressant/anti-anxiety medications. This is an astronomical amount. But not everyone is open to the idea of medication and want to handle anxiety more naturally, so what can they do?
Medication is being recommended by doctors more frequently, but there are numerous natural ways to manage anxiety and stress that can be just as effective. Getting fresh air, exercising, eating right, and getting enough sleep can all help lower stress and anxiety. Yoga and meditation have also been on the rise the last couple years, but sometimes that isn’t even enough.
There is no end all be all cure for anxiety. I know, I wish there was too. When I was about to give up however, my sister mentioned that I should try CBD oil, something that helped manage her anxiety. At first, I rolled my eyes as I too was guilty of being someone who fell for the negative stigma that surrounds CBD. It wasn’t until I did my own research surrounding CBD until I became more open minded and was desperate to find something to help my anxiety.
CBD reacts with different receptors in the brain that is responsible for regulating fear and anxiety induced behaviors. When people think of CBD, they tend to confuse it with THC which is another cannabinoid that is responsible for the high we associate with it. CBD, however, has many surprising benefits and whether it is being used to help manage an anxiety disorder or just the anxiety of daily life, it has shown many beneficial results.
Whether you decide to try CBD as an oil, capsule, powder, or gummy, it can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! Millions suffer from anxiety every day and we all have different experiences and manage it differently. I believe it’s worth a shot to try and manage those feelings of nervousness, restlessness, or panic. Anxiety attacks especially can be brutal and can occur at the worst times. CBD can be the solution you are looking for, even if you don’t know it yet.
