Pets and CBD
The Benefits of CBD for Dogs and Pets —
I’ve heard of people taking CBD to manage pain and anxiety, but I never realized the benefits of CBD for dogs and pets. Once I heard this, I had to dive deep into my own research. CBD for pets has a plethora of benefits such as reducing pain, inflammation, seizures, and anxiety. It can also provide support to the immune, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal systems.
There are many reasons why dogs are considered to be “man’s best friend”. Nothing beats the feeling of coming home after a long day and having your dog run up to greet you. I’m the first to admit I’d do anything for my pooch, whether it’s sneaking him an extra treat or buying him a new toy when I’m out. I’m sure many others feel the same way and if one thing is certain, we would all be heartbroken if something happens to them.
As a pet owner, you can imagine the anger I feel around the few weeks preceding July 4th when fireworks are going off and my pet is huddled in a corner shaking scared to death. Or another bad storm is rolling through, and loud thunder is shaking the house and the cats run to hide, and my dogs are on the verge of a heart attack.
I have another dog with a bad back. He loves a good pet, but if you touch him the wrong way, he yelps out in pain. I can sense how bad he hurts, but the vet can only do so much for him. They can prescribe muscle relaxers and other “medications”, but even that isn’t always the best solution. No loving pet owner wants to watch their pets suffer, whether it’s from old age, anxiety, or a pre-existing condition. Unfortunately, many of these things are out of our control, so what can we do to help our pets’ anxiety? I had to find a solution.
Can CBD help?
So, what are the benefits of CBD for dogs and pets? How do I know if it works? Our pets have two types of cannabinoid receptors in their body. This includes CB1 and CB2 receptors which work to balance and regulate their central nervous system and immune system. These systems are what oversees pain, inflammation, and anxiety, all things CBD can help improve. Also, since dogs metabolize faster than humans, CBD can tend to work very quickly.
The best part is that CBD can come in many forms for our furry friends. You can try oil, supplements, or treats. If your pet isn’t willing to try one form of CBD, you can always try another. I know my pets are suckers when it comes to treats and they’ll eat them right up. I don’t want to see my pets suffer any longer. If you’re on the fence and not sure where else to turn, give CBD a try. Green Balance CBD & Wellness uses organic hemp from Colorado with only two ingredients (hemp and MCT-coconut oil), and is third-party lab tested.
